The Ball brings rival clubs and football-for-good organisations together in Liverpool
Liverpool FC Foundation, Everton Football in the Community and Tranmere Rovers Football in the Community are coming together at the famous Albert Docks in Liverpool to welcome The Ball to Liverpool.
We will be running workshops and events as well as a street art project with the non-profit organisation Street League.
We are united in Gender Equality and Climate Action.

Street League’s vision is a world in which all young people have the opportunity of secure employment and a brighter future. Working in disadvantaged communities with young people facing multiple barriers to fulfilling their potential, we run programmes:
In schools for young people at risk of leaving early
In our academies for young people who aren’t in work, education or training
In the workplace to support young people to build careers
Our programmes are underpinned by sport and education, which build young people’s skills, self-belief, motivation and aspirations.
The LFC Foundation is the official charity of Liverpool Football Club. Building on the Club’s work in the community over the past 20 years, the charity was formed in 2010 as a financially independent organisation to harness the power and passion our fans and supporters have to improve the lives of others.
Tranmere Rovers in the Community was established as a one-man team by Steve Williams in the late 1980s – initially focusing on the use of football and other ancillary sporting activities as educational tools. Working across four core themes of Community Engagement, Health, Education and Sports Participation.
Everton in the Community is one of the UK’s top sporting charities and firmly established on the world stage of community sports development. As the Blues’ official charity it is considered one of the Premier League’s leading community schemes due to the quality and reach of its various programmes. Since 1988, Everton in the Community has been at the forefront of social intervention across Merseyside, not afraid to tackle issues which others shied away from.
Pledgeball is not-for-profit that encourages millions of people in the football community to make a small, easy change to their lifestyle to collectively have a big impact on our planet.
Spirit of Football was founded to promote the legend of The Ball, football's equivalent to the Olympic Torch. Every four years, The Ball kicks off from Battersea Park in London – where the first official game of football took place – and travels to the World Cup, uniting people around a common call to action: “One Ball, One World”

We’re thrilled to announce that we will be officially launching The Ball 2022-2023 at Battersea Park in London on 10th July 2022. Come and join us to kick off football’s equivalent to the Olympic Torch from where the first official game of FA Rules football was played.

Gothia Cup and Spirit of Football share the same mission of bringing the world together through football by emphasising the role football in general and youth football in particular, can play in social change and development, for a more sustainable world.

EarthDiverse hosts a replica of The Ball for the next year to increase awareness and knowledge about climate change through a unique and inventive teaching platform: football and fair play.
