The Ball 2023 on the finish line: Australia

After 12 months, The Ball has reached its last country on this year’s journey: Australia. Australia is country number 21 on this journey. Full with activities, The Ball’s journey culminates with a visit to the FIFA Women’s World Cup Final on August 20 in Sydney. Who will be the competing teams be?

Melbourne

Tuesday, 1st of August:

  • Casey Fields Primary School outdoor workshop.

Wednesday, 2nd of August:

  • Port Phillip Prison rehabilitation project workshop.
  • North Melbourne Street Soccer Program workshop. North Melbourne Community Centre, Boundary Rd, North Melbourne Victoria 3051
  • Jamaica vs Brazil – FIFA World Cup match. Melbourne Rectangular Stadium – AAMI Park

Thursday, 3rd of August:

  • Visit and workshop with The Big Issue Women’s Street Soccer Program (supporting disadvantaged and marginalised women – using the sport to tackle homelessness and mental illness);
    including visit of the US Consul General
  • Visit the Melbourne City Powerchair Team

Sydney

  • August 6th to 13th: Workshops with youth leaders from football for good organisations from across the globe and middle managers from Oceania Football Confederation (OFC)
    as part of Festival 23: https://www.festival23.org/ that Football United is organising.

Vasse

  • August 14th to 19th: Workshops with Vasse Soccer Club

Sydney

  • August 20: FIFA Women’s World Cup Final in Sydney
