May 21:-23: Youth, Climate and Fun Football
On May 20, we joined a networking and knowledge sharing workshop at the great anindhaloka hub. Climate Advocates from anindhaloka, Koprol Iklim, Cerah Indonesia and the student body of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics of the University of Indonesia. Together we brainstormed on how we can get youth engaged to fight the climate crisis, learned methods with the SDGs and played Fairplay football.
On May 22 and May 23: Workshops at the University of Indonesia
Following the workshop at andindhaloka, we co-delivered a SDG and “Fun Football” workshop with our partners from anindhaloka, Koprol Iklim, Cerah Indonesia and the student body of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics of the University of Indonesia . Our session was preceded by an input from Cerah Indonesia about climate change effects in Indonesia and youth engagement in the climate crisis.
On the second day, Green Peace Indonesia shared their expertise on climate change in Indonesia, the correlation of foods and emissions and Indonesia’s (little) efforts to battle the climate crisis. We conducted some short SDG Speed Dating and SDG Mini-Theater Sessions and then went outside for some “Fun Football”. Unfortunatly, we were ht by some heavy rain on the first day and had to move our session to the University’s cafeteria. On the second day, we were prepared for rain, but were luckily spared, and finished off the three-day activity with a really fun and inclusive Fairplay Football session! Thank you so much to our local partners for making these workshops possible and for advocating for climate action in your region!
The Ball in Indonesia is also supported by the German Embassy in Jakarta and the Swedish Postcode Foundation.
