9th January 2014 was the 150th anniversary of the first official game of football to FA rules. On that day, The Ball 2014 kicked off from Battersea Park in London, where that game was played, and travelled across Europe and the Americas to the World Cup in Brazil.
The Ball and Olimpiadas Especiales – Uruguay at the Embajada Británica, Montevideo. Britain gave the world football 150 years ago. The values of fair play and respect that football were founded with are lacking in a modern game often tarnished by hatred, violence and corruption. Special Olympics and Spirit of Football are trying to show that another kind of football is possible. One Ball, One World.

The Ball was a guest at BOCA Planeta Boca Juniors. Spirit Of Football made a presentation to legends of BOCA and Argentine football as well as athletes from Nuevas Olimpíadas Especiales Argentina. Special Olympics athletes train at Boca every week and also at Boca`s subsidiaries throughout Argentina. One Ball, One World, One Boca
Yesterday Spirit of Football e.V. released their video for the world cup campaign Eine Welt – Eine Leidenschaft (one world – one passion). It’s about people from Erfurt City and how they feel about fairplay and respect amongst each other. These messages are accompanied by the ball’s presence.
