Colombia make it 3 wins from 3

Today Colombia made it 3 from 3 wins at the World Cup. Here is a little episode from The Ball`s 10 day visit to Colombia with Special Olympics Colombia (Página Oficial). Zipaquirá’s Salt Cathedral is an architectural wonder and The Ball was lucky enough to roll through it. Un Balon Un Mundo.

Islam Slimani

Islam Slimani scored a nice goal on Sunday against South Korea in a man of the match performance. The Algerian international and his teammates have the round of 16 on their minds. The power of The Ball might well be at work here. Islam headed & signed it at Sporting Clube de Portugal at the end of January when he became part of the epic journey. One Ball, One Islam Slimani

Spirit of Football e.V.

Man of the match #CORALG: Slimani Islam.

The last workshop in Rio

Spirit of Football`s last workshop in Rio took place at the Fundação Gol de Letra. It included the presentation of The Ball’s journey to the teachers, social workers and employees of the foundation, the playing of fair play football and the signing of The Ball. Of the 20 particpants (all employees of the foundation) only 1 of them was truly happy about the World Cup being in Brazil. The others are sad and angry and confused at the enormous expense of the tournament at a time when Brazil suffers from a drastic lack of social infrastructure. But almost all of them have been enjoying the incredible football. The World Cup of contradictions continues…
