Futbel Livingham celebrates first Birthday

At the first World Cup that has had a torch ball-type-thing we celebrated the idea’s First Birthday. Rob had told the Bar manager in Pusan it was my birthday and that my name was Futbel Livingham. This produced much celebratory staff attentions with accompanying fried squid ‘n’ cocktail, and more importantly the announcement on the PA for “Futbel Livingham Birthday”. It was a proud moment for the ball and its journey.

Back a the hotel, things got a little raucous…

  1. Do we have a video of the cheesy night club performer falteringly announcing the birthday before launching into a painful rendition of some unnameable pop song?

  2. We’ll see what we can find… sadly I can’t be sure that the quality moment was captured. Worse still, the lens of our camera cracked up in the subsequent cabaret-karaoke cheese fest, come to think of it, so did we in a tongue biting kind of a style.

As regards the ‘unnameable pop song’, I hope you weren’t refering to “Take me home….country road”!!
