FIFA will select the host nation for the 2010 World Cup on 15 May 2004. I’ll be hoping that South Africa win, but largely for selfish reasons – I really want to do the trip from London to South Africa overland.
UPDATE: Congratulations to South Africa, which has indeed been chosen as the host for 2010.

Well, the spirit of the ball is alive and well. It brings a smile to my face everytime I think about it.
Talking of the ball, I did notice it can get a bit heavy at times – need a hand carrying it over to berlin? :-)
South Africa does indeed sound good. As it happens, just doing a bit of north african recconaissance in tunisia at the moment…
funny how these things work out.
Tim: Yes please – it won’t be as exotic as Uzbekistan and Xinjiang, but you know from experience that any help carrying The Ball is always welcome.
See you in Battersea Park!
In disregard to whom I am or to which nation I belong, but suppose I was Italian, African or someone else and not Tunisian, I would qualify Tunisia to host such a great event like The world cup rather any other countries because it is the most known and the most famous.
