Two Balls meet in Liverpool suburb: Two Balls, One World!?

The Ball meets the Gender Equality Ball

Deborah Dilworth (Debs) is a very busy person. Working for the Football Supporters Association (FSA) who has been on a mission: setting up the Free Lionesses‘ Fans Embassy for England fans at EURO 2022 in England. For the Men’s game it goes without saying that Fan Embassies will be set-up to support football fans at major sporting events. This is not the case for the Women’s game. Women have to fight to have their voices heard in the game. Debs made it happen. Her dream: An England Fan Embassy at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in New Zealand and Australia. Debs and The FSA have also kicked-off The Gender Equality Ball.

Spirit’s motto is „One Ball, One World“. As our website tells you „We carry only One Ball and we have only One World and we need to take care of both of them“. For the first time ever, there are multiple balls being used in The Ball project. One of them is The Gender Equality Ball which is being carried and kicked around the country by Debs and the FSA throughout the EUROs gathering signatures in support of gender equality and climate action. It has been following Team England around the country and can be found outside of all England matches at the Free Lionesses Fan Embassy.

In Liverpool, we had a dilemma: The Ball needed to be in 2 places at the same time. On previous journeys, one would have to have chosen one or other. This time Karli Stenger, our USA Ambassador, was able to take The Gender Equality Ball to the Tramlines music festival in Sheffield to meet the young climate activist band Inhaler. At the same time the SOF Germany crew could head south to Brighton in our carsharing provided by our logistics partner Teil-Auto in Germany.
