DOVER – Jam On The Road

We are looking forward to the next stage in our journey and the 4-star hotel we booked in Eupen, Belgium. But the Easter weekend is ahead and we hadn’t counted on this! Near London we miss our exit twice and the traffic jams become endless.

The mood plummets.

Everyone is hungry.

Finally a stop! A gas station!

Lunch at English „Teatime“? We don’t give a damn, as long as there is a toilet, and food – we stock up an exorbitant supply of sweets and other edibles.

Sugar shock! The adrenalin rises again.

Strengthened, we play at guessing songs and bawl out our tunes in the shrillest tones imaginable. The traffic jam just won’t end! Boredom. Silly ideas crop up. What do you do when you’re in a traffic jam for 12 hours? People start to get crazy. Suddenly the Ball is gone. Where is The ball? Where is Martin?

Frisch gestärkt spielen wir Liederraten und gröllen in den schönsten und schrillsten Tönen unsere Lieder! Wir stehen ewig im Stau! Langeweile! Dummheiten im Kopf. Was macht man, wenn man 12 Std im Stau steht?? People starts to get crazy. Plözlich war The Ball weg. Where is The ball? Wo ist der Ball?? Wo ist Martin?

Martin had snatched the Ball, hopped out of the bus and was running away with The Ball. A new category in the entertainment sector „Where is The Ball?” has emerged.
Finally arrived in Dover, we are standing in long queues waiting to get onto the ferry decks. To pass the time, Benny entertains other bored car occupants, plays with The Ball and gathers signatures. Our fellow-waiters in the queue are glad about the diversion. A special signature was had by a dog, who gave The Ball a hearty lick ;-).

The first beastly signature on The Ball!
