Talk at The Festival of Football Ideas

Phil and Christian will be talking about Spirit Of Football at the opening of The Festival of Football Ideas in Bristol tonight. Looking forward to attending some of the events during this fantastic fortnight of football fun.

The Ball has arrived in Brazil!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5 months on the road through 25 countries, The Ball has arrived in Brazil. It has been headed and signed by almost 17,000 people including the homeless, presidents, children in over 125 schools, top professional footballers, national teams, gays and lesbians, transgender, little children, a 95 year old great great grandmother, communists and capitalists, catholics and muslims, and thousands of Special Olympians and their families. It has been kicked, headed, kissed and it has beared witness to the love that people around the world have for football. This wonderful game. The world game. But The Ball`s carriers arrive in Brasil with mixed emotions. Brazil, the country that loves football like no other doesn`t seem to want the World Cup to take place. The talk is of massive corruption and huge (wasteful) infrastructure projects and money that could have and should have been spent on education and health care. Meanwhile, the outside world is eagerly awaiting the start of the World Cup.
Thanks for following The Ball on its way to Brazil and please stay tuned, Spirit of Football will aim to bring you the World Cup picture from the ground in Brazil and attempt to find out the voices of Brazil. The days ahead should be very interesting both on and off of the field. One Ball, One World. Spirit Of Football Spirit of Football e.V. The Ball and Olimpiadas Especiales Uruguay

The Ball and Olimpiadas Especiales – Uruguay at the Embajada Británica, Montevideo. Britain gave the world football 150 years ago. The values of fair play and respect that football were founded with are lacking in a modern game often tarnished by hatred, violence and corruption. Special Olympics and Spirit of Football are trying to show that another kind of football is possible. One Ball, One World.
