Karin (Mum!): that explains why I can't get through to you on the phone... silly old me, I totally forgot that you're on holiday...

Moscow is actually surprisingly warm, but looking forward to Tashkent later today, and some real heat.

Meeting Richard Hamilton in Samarkhand on Sunday, and then visiting my grandfather's grave on the way to Bukhara on Tuesday. Very much looking forward to it... he was born in Providence, Rhode Island, died in Samarkhand... a nomadic spirit (though perhaps not out of choice) whom I already feel a great kinship with.
